This looks way better than every drawing I've done of Liz in the past.

I definitely embellished and exaggerated my dialogue, which was actually more of a monologue.

For the record, whether or not this bill is about racism, there are still a ball ton of racists in Arizona.

Also, I kind of look like a monkey in this.

Okay, okay, this is totally a lazy panel. It's difficult to not have some of those while staying up too late for one-thousand, two-hundred and twelve days in a row.

Since I'm slacking, I'll tell you to check out my buddy Dave's sketchblog if you want to see some great art. He's doing daily sketches right now, and they're always awesome.

This is my third attempt at drawing New Me, and the first time I think it looks okay, so I guess the third time's the charm, in this case.

I would love to say that I created this character, but Shannon Wheeler, I am not.

Relearning how to draw myself is awesome and totally fucking sucky, at the same time. Expect to see more drawings of me. I am, after all, the main character, so I should probably get a firm grip on how to draw me.

In case you don't believe me, here is a picture that is pretending to be artsy.

Giant choirs and giant organs. 'Twas a good night to be human.

Just imagine the pile of bodies behind him that I was too lazy to draw.

To be fair, I had a really awesome day. Liz and I were super lazy and laid in bed until about 2PM. Most of the day, I was pissed at myself for it, but now I realize that it was well worth "wasting time" with her, and there isn't much that I'd rather do. Yes, I'm stressed about my list of things I need to catch up on, but I am still thankful about the things I have time for.

It's also been a year since the day we met, which is also awesome, and hard to believe, at times.

I really couldn't be happier having Liz in my life. She has been everything I would want in a lover and friend, and I hope that we can grow together and have an amazing life. I'm rooting for us.

Alternately, this shirt can be worn by cool people.

I went to bed some time after 3 last night, woke up around 9:20, went to work from 10-2:50, drove to work #2, ate food, got coffee, worked from 4-10:20, then drove to Satan's Monk practice which went until about 12:30, which ended up with me getting home to Liz around 1:30, at which point the last thing I wanted to do was spend another hour drawing, so this came up.

She was very, very tired, and a stoned triangle is pretty awesome, anyway.

Now it's after 3:30 and I have to wake up around 9 to work at ten again, and I close again, and I do the same thing on Friday, which is Liz's and my six month anniversary, which is just holy balls awesome, because she rules and I'm totally happy with her.

Goodnight, sweet world. I'm sorry we all felt so weird all day.

This is really the next best thing to a video camera.

I drew basically the same panel (not including the words) a month or two ago. I liked it, for the most part, but I accidentally made my head way bigger than hers, so I decided to try again. Well, I must have a giguantous ego, because I drew my head huge again.

Man, it's really stupid that anyone ever called French fries freedom fries. They're not even French! And what the shifuck is wrong with France, anyway? IT'S FUCKING AWESOME. I live in a country full of morons. The sooner I accept this, the better off we'll all be.

When reading this panel, one should pronounce "good" in a similar manner to "food" and "dude" for maximum enjoyment.

I wish the Purple Rain party was a political party. I would always vote for their candidate.

Sounds about right.

I actually managed to get this one onto paper pretty much like it looked in my head. I wish that would happen more often.

On a pretty unrelated note, I worked at my old job, That's A Wrap, from 10-3 today, then at Green from 4-10(:30), which I'll be doing a bunch over the next couple of weeks. I'm actually pretty happy to be getting a bunch of hours because it will be a nice little boost in getting myself further ahead on my bills. I will, however, need to learn a lot about handling stress and keeping my head together. It's pretty temporary though, so I'm not anticipating any real problems.

This shit makes me so tired. I will be working 10-3 M-F at That's a Wrap the next few weeks, plus my normal hours at Green, so I am expecting SJO's art quality to take a bit of a dip. I'll still try my best, of course, but I need sleep.

Okay, fine, I admit it. I love drawing food.

I'm really excited to start trying a bunch of different coffee beans. This thing is gonna save so much money it's unbelievable. It cost about $80 and we already consumed about $8 worth of drinks just today!

I used way too much correction fluid on this drawing for how much I hate it.

1188

There are, probably, too many things I don't like about this panel. What I do like is that, more or less, it conveys what I wanted it to. I probably could have made it more clear that we were actually listening to the song too, not just singing it, but oh well.

The song we're singing is "You Made Me Love You" by R. Kelly, who is awesome, and I should get way more into him.

If you are sensing a history regarding my angst toward Facebook, your senses do not betray you.

I have, on three separate occasions, attempted to create a Facebook page for Satan's Monk. All three times, I was met with a similar message to the one you see above, and all three times, I attempted to contact Facebook about this. Not only did they not help me get a page set up, they never even contacted me about it. The first time I emailed them about it was well over a year ago now. Obviously, this is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for a response regarding something like this.

So, yes, of course I'm a little mad when they now tell me I can't make a page for my comic. They will allow me to make a page for "Jesus' Monk" (which I won't be doing), but I can't make a page for things I'm actually doing? Dog forbid something should have the word "screw" in it!

Fuck Facebook.

You have no idea how much I would love to lie right now and say that I had intended for this drawing to have a manga-esque style.

Some other cool things happened today, like the write-up I got on the New Times blog, and like seeing How To Train Your Dragon in 3D with Liz, but I think it's pretty obvious why I chose to do my panel about the amp. My favorite thing about these EVH heads is that all of the knobs go to 11.
